Hi everyone!

I'd like to share a little life hack to add multiple locations in Ads.

Often customers ask to add geotargeting not with a specific city and region, but in some part of the country, for example, only in the center or in the east of Ukraine. Each time adding the necessary cities and regions manually is undoubtedly a pain, so I put together an id list of all regions and regional centers, which are divided into parts in the same way as in Wordstat.

This list is also useful in ad campaign optimization. You can raise or lower your bids for locations based on its performance to increase your ROI.

Below I share the instructions for adding multiple locations in Ads Editor.

Step 1.

Sign in to your Ads Editor account.

Step 2.

In the “Management” block, go to the “Keywords and targeting” tab -> “Locations” and click on the “Make multiple changes” button.

Step 3.

We switch to our id list and use the filter to select the desired region (for example, we need to target only to the east). Copy data from columns B and C.

Step 4.

Back to the Ads Editor. We put the checkbox “Use selected locations” + check the advertising campaigns in which you want to add geotargeting + click the “Paste from clipboard” button + click the “Process” button.

Step 5.

Check the changes made. If there are locations that were missed, then most likely, it has already been added to your campaign.

Uncheck the box next to “Automatically accept all imported changes” + click the “Finish and review changes” button.

Step 6.

Click the “Save” button + to correctly complete the addition of new locations, click on the “Check Locations” button – we should see information filtered by the type and coverage.

Step 7.

Click the “Post” button.

Done! Now, you can adjust the desired locations based on data in Google Analytics or in Adwords itself.
